Testing the SP-303

Just playing around with my new toy. First beat made on it, never touched one before so it’s no masterpiece. Everything played with quantize off, recorded into patterns, yeah I know, but I’m not good enough to try it live yet :)

Just The Radio

One of my entries for last nights Louisden (homework #61 if anyone’s counting), in which the only rule was to make a beat in 120bpm. Weird tempo, but I managed to make two of them in the end, this one the better of the two.

Also on Youtube if you prefer that. HD/Hi-Rez available in both places, which I recommend if you want to see what’s going on.

Tokyo Grindhouse Mafia / Remixes #6

The dude knows how to flip a beat or two or a billion.. In any case he’s ill and here’s your chance to go and get some new free stuff. So just download and be happy there are people that are talented and altruistic by nature.

Tokyo Grindhouse Mafia

Remixes #6

This is a selection of remixes done over the last two years or so… Since my last Remixtape basically. Most of em were done for various competitions, a couple were not, some did well, I like them all.

If you’re feeling the beats don’t hesitate to get at me, some of em are available.. not for free, although anything can be discussed.. for the right price. You know the deal.

These were all made in renoise, lovely app, use it almost exclusively nowdays. Check it out.

Remixed artists include Soundsci, Sleep, LoDeck, Cyne, B. Dolan and a bunch of others.

Download it for free over at Bandcamp.

Support the good stuff people!

Beat Feed Instrumentals – Episode 9

Official blurb..

Episode 9 ignites with a magical masterpiece from a sick producer from Stockholm Sweden,  magOwl. The beat is called “Odd School” and it’s fresh off the machine, as he sent it a day after producing! Oddisee casts the next spell, with the beat for the song “Cold for That” off his Mental Liberation Instrumentals release, and the final magic missle comes courtesy of JK1 the Supernova, an upcoming producer/MC from Florida by way of CT. The track is called “Mayfloured”, and its from his new free instrumentals release The Dusty Budda Stash. Show some love, use the links. Peace! – Dirt E. Dutch, Beat Feed

Quick Update

If some of you are wondering why I haven’t put out any new remixes, beats, or tunes in general for a bit… it’s coming. I’m in multitask mode and got several projects (both hip-hop and electronic), and artists, which I’m working with at the moment.. and previously. Things should start to trickle out as we move on through 2010.

I’ve also had some other side projects going which doesn’t include music that has taken up some time, and I’ve had a bad cold for a couple of weeks now which has hindered the production slightly (read, can’t mix when you can’t hear properly).

So to cap it off, there should be some goodies coming your way in a little bit, and I’ll try to get some more remixes, for your downloading pleasure, done in the meantime.

Breez Remixes

Here’s a couple of old/new remixes for y’all to listen to. I made ‘em back in -07 for Breez Evahflowin, but decided to give them a little touch-up and post them. There is one more, which might just be the best of the three, but I didn’t have the energy to mess with it today, but I will, so it’ll be coming up in a day or two. Anyways, here are the tunes…

Enjoy!

Remixta

DJ Suva played two of my tracks last night on Remixta, both off The Sowl Files, and I was in good company I have to say… some killer tracks in the playlist. So y’all should check it out over at the site, here’s a direct link to the latest episode. Remixta is a podcast playing tracks made in the lovely music application Renoise, keep reading for some more info.

Here’s the about blurb off of there (which I shamelessly copied :)

Remixta is a monthly music podcast run by estonian DJ Suva and dedicated to playing music made with Renoise tracker. During the month, I collect all the new Renoise music from Renoise Forums, SoundCloud, Myspace and the tracks people send me directly. I choose the tracks I like the best and play them in 40 minute to 1h DJ set Live over IceCast. Everyone can tune in and listen the live show, and if they miss it, they can always relisten the podcast form of the show.

Soundsci Remix Winners

So.. the announcement was made after a long deliberation between the judges (Jonny Cuba, Audessey, Ollie Teeba, No Sleep Nigel and DJ Cro (that’s the UK DJ Cro, to avoid any confusion)). Yeah, so anyways, I came in third place, which means I’m one of the three winners of this little competition.. good stuff!
First place was snatched by Ashoke aka Boom Op, and second place by Ajuda (got no link for Ajuda.. sorry). Check the tunes in the player below!

As you might hear my tune is a little bit different here compared to the one I put up a couple of weeks ago, nothing major tho… and of course check Soundsci (buy the album.. it’s great!), Crate Escape Records & DJ Cro’s blog. Cheers!
