Finally got a beats page up on here. I’ll have around 5-10 beats on it at any given time, and I’ll try to switch em around as I make new ones since I don’t want to swamp the site with a couple of hundred beats heh. And I do have a soundclick page where more of em can be heard… and of course the ol’ myspace.
Y’all can click the image above or any of the links spread all over to check it out. I also enabled comments on that page so feel free to drop me a line (comments are moderated tho).
And on another note.. since I now run this page alone (…again) I’ll probably try and re-vamp it into more my page instead of a sowl one. I’ll keep the name tho.. Sowl Productions, I still like it and it works even if the name hold no real meaning anymore.
So maybe I’ll put up some remixes on a page and maybe even fire off a freebeat or two once in a while, but we’ll see about that hehe.
Cheers & Stay Up!
Doug sent me two more videos he put together of some of my remixes.. check em out :)

Finally the dubstep tune is out on the German dubstep label Dubstep Division Recordings. It’s a remix of Don Goliaths “4 Elements”, and is one of 16 tunes (including the original) on the album called, Va - 4 Elements-The Remixes (DDR008).
Y’all can get the tune and album via Don Goliats Page, or you can grab em directly from..
digital-tunes.net, junodownload.com, trackitdown.net & beatsdigital.com.
![]() The release of Brooklyn Academys album “Bored of Education” has been pushed up to September 2nd, so I’m afraid we’ll have to wait a little bit longer for the goodness. But those who wait for something good.. you know the saying hehe. You can check the Brooklyn Academy Myspace for updates, links and whatnot as well. Cheers! |
Debut album from Brooklyn Academy dropping on July 22nd… 10+ years in the making. Brooklyn Ac is Block McCloud, Mr. Metaphor & Pumpkinhead. Y’all can pre-order it on UGHH, or if you in Sweden and prefer megastore… go there.
So why am I telling you this? Well.. I produced one of the tunes on there, namely “Splash” which features Killah Priest. To be honest i remixed it, the original version of the track is on Brooklyn Ac’s myspace.. but that is not the one I made and won’t be on the album. Just thought I’d make that clear. I’m not gonna post any audio preview this time.. at least not right now. Maybe I’ll update this post with the tune later on, we’ll see. There are a couple of live vids if you expand the post tho. Oh and if you’re wondering about the cover.. I haven’t seen it yet myself. |
Here’s an excerpt from a good writeup on BloomBlog, head over there to read the whole story and make sure you check the follow-up as well. One of the pics show a sneak peak of the cover.. not the best perhpas, but if you’re curious!

Pumpkinhead, Block McCloud and Mr. Metaphor all grew up in the same area of Park Slope, Brooklyn submerged in music and hip-hop culture. There had been random quasi-encounters here and there—Pumpkinhead and Met attending the same junior high school, Block hearing about Pumpkinhead’s battling abilities through a friend, etc.—but it wasn’t until an arranged freestyle battle between Block and Pump in 1995 that the two officially met. (Looking back, one will quickly concede defeat to the other but you’ll have to ask who beat who.) Around the same time, Block, Metaphor and producer Will Tell formed Word A’ Mouth, whose “Famous Last Words” unanimously became the highlight of the much-lauded Lyricist Lounge, Volume One. Finally in 1996, the trio came together to release classic underground singles like “Blind Fury” and “Russian Roulette” and a movement was born.
Other producers include Illmind, Will Tell, Snowgoons, Black Milk to name a few. Guests on the album are Ill Bill, Will Tell, Jean Grae, Killa Priest and more. Make sure y’all peep this and you can keep checking back here as well as I’ll try to keep updating if I find anything new and interesting to post.
Cheers!
Silent Knight’s new album “Restoration” has hit the shelves, and on it is my remix of his track “This Is It”. I did sort of and old school, disco’ish thing, complete with vocoder hook and all. You can grab the album from SK’s page on myspace at the moment, but I guess it’ll be more widely available soon. Y’all should also peep his Rawkus 50 drop “Hunger Strike v.2″, which is very nice as well. Y’all can check out the entire remix on my Myspace page.. but I’ve also included a snippet right here, just click play below. [display_podcast] |
Bluevibe Studio just posted a blog about his new EP coming out soon.
It has a pre-master version of my (magOwl) remix of “Holdin On” attached for listening, as well as some nice insights on how he goes about making this release happen and his working method.
So y’all should get over there and check it out.
Alright.. here’s a couple of new remixes not featured on “Remixes Part 5″ (which is free btw.. click the link up on the right and download it if you havn’t already).
