This was a very quick remix I did for the latest Louisden challenge (which was to remix the Illmind produced track “The Headsplit” by Sonnyjim off his album The Psychonaut).
I’ll probably update the tune in a couple of days as I can certainly fix some of the sloppy mixing now that I have the time.
It’s done. I didn’t win, but it was all good fun which is most important. But be on the lookout as I’ll happily join in again at a later date. So… congrats to Theory for rolling out with the W.

Yup it’s that time of year again, time for this years incarnation of the LouisDen League! Promised to be bigger, better & harder then ever before; man I’m looking forward to it!
So how do you participate you ask. Well, head over to the Louisden forum, sign up and then go to this post and read all about it. The short version is that you have to mail in your interest, dig out 10 songs for the sample pool & then participate in the “Dope Ass Beat” challenge to decide which division you will start out in.
So if you feel you can make one beat a week for around 12 weeks, go ahead and enter, it’s all good fun!

A selection of beats from my Louisden entries.
One of my entries for last nights Louisden (homework #61 if anyone’s counting), in which the only rule was to make a beat in 120bpm. Weird tempo, but I managed to make two of them in the end, this one the better of the two.

This is kinda last minute, but there’s still a couple of days left to enter into the LouisDen Beat League, 2009 edition!
First off you’ll need to register on their forum and go into the League thread on there and jot down your name, then you got until the 13th (yup… two days left) to submit a dope beat, no rules for it, just have to be dope! So.. If you think you can churn out one beat a week for a couple of months onward, join up. This is purely for fun and a place for you to sharpen your beatmaking skills, no prices or anything. You can read more in-depth on their myspace blog. That’s that.. just thought I’d spread the word around some more.. last minute or not.
